Three out of four acquisitions do not work.  Hornet has developed simple criteria that help us avoid mistakes.  We need to answer a resounding YES to these four basic questions before we continue pursuing an acquisition:

Price:  Can we buy at fair price?

Cost Cutting:  Can we cut costs by 10 to 20% in less than a year?

Industry:   Is this a market where we can compete and make a profit?

Management:   Can we get local management to execute the business plan? 

We are looking for companies with revenues from $2 to $50 million and focus on companies in the Midwest and Southeast.
